The winter cold and flu season is upon us. Chinese medicine has herbs that can help you prevent getting colds or treat colds and flu that come your way.

Prevention is important. Wash hands often, especially before and after every meal and when handling food. Get plenty of sleep. Eat lots of whole foods including vegetables, fruits, grains, and beans.  Taking care of yourself makes it possible to fight off viruses that are everywhere this time of year.

If you are prone to catching colds or flu, come in for a treatment to tone or strengthen your body and help keep you well.

Acupuncture is also very good at treating colds and flu. The earlier you come in, the better it works.  My patients are reporting they get sick less often. When they catch a cold or get the flu, they tell me that with prompt treatment, they do not get as sick as before and recover much more quickly.
